Moca Chain Launches Identity-Focused Layer-1 Blockchain Backed by Animoca Brands
Moca Network, the identity-focused arm of Animoca Brands, has unveiled Moca Chain, a new Layer-1 blockchain designed to address fragmented logins, redundant KYC, and data privacy issues in crypto. The ZK-powered network aims to streamline decentralized identity and verifiable credentials, launching with access to Animoca's 700 million-user ecosystem.
Built with zero-knowledge proofs and cross-chain interoperability, Moca Chain allows users to store credentials privately while proving them across applications without exposing raw data. A testnet is scheduled for Q3 2025, with mainnet expected in Q4. The project combines decentralized storage, ZKP-based verification, and zkTLS technology to pull real-world information without centralized intermediaries.
Animoca's backing provides immediate scale, positioning Moca Chain as a potential infrastructure play in the growing decentralized identity sector. The network will serve as an open platform for credential issuance and verification, welcoming third-party protocols and applications.
